My name is Linda Della Donna. You don't know me. Yet! I am a new writer.

Not long ago, I trolled the internet for a webmistress. Big mistake. I didn't know better. Now I do. After a terrible experience and a horrible web site, I didn't know what to do, or who to turn to for help. I was afraid to trust another on-line stranger! That was until I met Karen Hawkins.

I want every one to know that there is some one out here who is a marvelous web mistress, someone who came to my rescue and helped me get my web site up and running.

Karen Hawkins, known as barefoot@offthewallemporium.com , is the lady who did the web site for momwriters.com  and others, but most of all, she is the lady who helped me when I had no place to go, no one to turn to, felt lost, alone, and unwelcome.

Karen doesn't get angry if I ask, "Please correct the spelling of a word;" she doesn't mind if I say, "Please take that sentence out. Please put this sentence in." Karen doesn't get annoyed if I change my mind. Best of all, Karen has suggestions, and they are good ones!

I hired Karen Hawkins to design my website.  This was the first time I worked with someone on a project via the internet. Ms. Hawkins was tremendously responsive and quick to make my requested changes.  She guided me through the design process by offering advice, but never did she impose her own perspective or biases on me. She has the ability to listen to a client (via email) and pull out ideas the create a distinctive site.  Her knowledge of web design and design resources available on the internet is impressive. And, finally she's a pleasure to work with.  She's still helping me with my site.  Although I need to learn to maintain it on my own, I'm hesitant to sever such a pleasant relationship.
